The forward deployed engineering (FDE) team is rapidly expanding, focused on scaling Ramp into new verticals and elevating our service to some of the largest companies globally by automating their financial operations. Our objective is to streamline our processes and ensure we achieve product-market fit in the enterprise sector.

The newly created FDE Ops role is crucial for enhancing our operational efficiency and speeding up our service offerings by collaborating closely with major customers.

With each feature Ramp launches, we conduct thorough explorations with our clients, educate them on using our products, and liaise with their technical teams to ensure smooth integrations and launches. This position will be pivotal in bridging the communication gap between engineering and stakeholders, with an emphasis on refining processes, automation, and AI tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage: Assist the FDE team in prioritizing new enterprise requests daily, ensuring focus on critical tasks.
  • Scoping and Onboarding: Conduct thorough scoping with customers to provide a clear launch checklist.
  • Communication and Education: Guide new customers in understanding product integration and keep them informed on project progress.
  • Technology and Automation: Spot opportunities to automate processes and empower users.
  • Documentation and Repeatability: Create a library of documents and processes for an efficient and repeatable playbook to engage with large clients.

Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: 2 years of experience in software engineering; familiarity with Python, React, and SQL is essential.
  • Client Experience: At least 1 year in a customer-facing role.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to present and document clearly for diverse audiences.
  • High Ownership Mentality: Proven track record of achieving results through proactive initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI and automation techniques.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of full-stack development.
  • Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer or founder.
