Role Summary

  • The AI / Information Engineer will design and deploy production-grade AI systems and data infrastructure within Microsoft Fabric, combining LLM development, agentic workflows, data engineering, and user-facing application development.
  • Own the implementation of RAG systems, model deployment pipelines, cross-system integrations, and intuitive interfaces that drive measurable business impact.

Core Responsibilities

AI & Agent Development

  • Build agentic AI systems using LangChain, LlamaIndex, or AutoGen with multi-step reasoning, tool calling, and memory management
  • Deploy RAG pipelines using Azure OpenAI/OpenAI with Pinecone, Weaviate, or Azure AI Search
  • Fine-tune and evaluate models for classification, semantic search, and summarization
  • Develop custom agents for procurement analysis, energy audits, and municipal RFP automation

User Interface & Application Development

  • Build Power Apps (canvas/model-driven) with AI capabilities and custom connectors
  • Develop Power Pages portals for external users (RFP tools, audit dashboards, document analysis)
  • Build Power BI dashboards with embedded AI insights and natural language features
  • Design intuitive UI/UX for AI applications with structured user testing
  • Build custom PCF components using TypeScript/React
  • Integrate AI into SharePoint using SPFx, Power Automate, and custom pages

Model Operations & Monitoring

  • Prepare labeled training datasets and validation pipelines
  • Deploy models to Azure using Azure ML, containers, or REST APIs
  • Build monitoring dashboards for performance, usage, and cost
  • Maintain model registry, versioning, and rollback documentation

Data Platform Engineering

  • Design Lakehouse architecture in Microsoft Fabric using Delta Lake and medallion structures
  • Build ELT pipelines from ERP/CRM systems and custom APIs
  • Optimize SQL databases, indexes, and stored procedures
  • Implement data quality checks using Great Expectations or Python validators

Integration & Automation

  • Configure Boomi or similar iPaaS integrations across ERP, CRM, document management, and IoT systems
  • Build REST APIs with FastAPI or Flask for AI inference and business logic
  • Embed AI into SharePoint, Teams, and custom React apps
  • Automate workflows using Power Automate to reduce manual effort
  • Develop Power Platform custom connectors with authentication and error handling

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field

Experience

  • 2–4 years in Data Engineering, ML Engineering, or AI Engineering with production deployment experience

Technical Requirements

Programming & AI

  • Python proficiency (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
  • Hands-on LLM development with GPT-4, Claude, or Llama; prompt engineering and function calling
  • Built at least two production RAG systems

Data Platform

  • Microsoft Fabric experience with pipelines, Lakehouse, and SQL endpoints
  • SQL expertise with complex queries and optimization
  • SQL Server experience with tables, stored procedures, and security

Front-End Development

  • Power Apps (canvas/model-driven) with custom connectors
  • Power BI semantic models, DAX, and RLS
  • Power Pages with Liquid templates and API integrations
  • PCF component development in TypeScript/React
  • SharePoint development with SPFx and Graph API
  • Modern web development (HTML, CSS, JS/TS, React/Vue)

Integration

  • Boomi or equivalent iPaaS experience
  • REST API development with authentication and documentation
  • Custom connector development for Power Platform

AI Tools (Preferred)

  • Experience configuring Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT Enterprise, or similar tools

Professional Skills

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Document architectures, data flows, and runbooks
  • Work with IT security on compliance and data governance
  • Deliver user training and documentation for AI-enabled tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Azure cloud services (Azure ML, Functions, AI Services, Key Vault, App Insights)
  • MLOps (CI/CD, GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps, MLflow)
  • Vector database optimization and embedding strategies
  • DevOps (Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Pytest)
  • Power Platform certifications (PL-100, PL-200, PL-400)
  • UX/UI design experience (Figma, Adobe XD)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
