Our client, a trailblazer in AI & Emerging Technologies, is seeking a highly qualified Senior AI Ethicist & Governance Specialist for a fully remote position. This critical role will shape the responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies, ensuring alignment with ethical principles, legal frameworks, and societal values. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of AI, machine learning, ethical philosophy, and regulatory landscapes related to emerging technologies. You will lead the development and implementation of AI governance policies, conduct ethical risk assessments, and provide guidance to product and engineering teams. This remote-first position requires exceptional analytical and communication skills, combined with the ability to navigate complex, evolving technological and ethical challenges. Key responsibilities include: developing and implementing comprehensive AI ethics frameworks and governance policies; conducting ethical impact assessments for AI systems and algorithms; advising product development, research, and engineering teams on ethical considerations and best practices; staying current with global AI regulations and ethical standards; developing training materials and conducting workshops on AI ethics for internal teams; collaborating with legal, compliance, and policy teams; contributing to public discourse and industry best practices in AI ethics; managing stakeholder engagement on ethical AI issues.
A Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Ethics, Philosophy, Computer Science, Law, or Public Policy is required. A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, technology policy, or a related field is essential. Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts, including bias, fairness, transparency, and accountability, is mandatory. Experience developing ethical guidelines, policies, or governance structures for technology is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are paramount. Superior written and verbal communication skills are needed to articulate complex ethical and technical concepts clearly. The ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively with diverse, geographically dispersed teams in a remote environment is crucial.
