Our client, a pioneer in the field of Artificial Intelligence and responsible technology development, is seeking a highly accomplished Remote Lead AI Ethics & Governance Specialist. This is a fully remote position that plays a crucial role in shaping and implementing ethical frameworks, policies, and governance structures for the company's cutting-edge AI products and research. You will collaborate with diverse teams, including data scientists, engineers, legal counsel, and product managers, to ensure our AI solutions are developed and deployed in a manner that is fair, transparent, accountable, and beneficial to society.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, refine, and implement comprehensive AI ethics principles, guidelines, and policies across the organization. Establish and manage AI governance frameworks, including review processes, risk assessment methodologies, and compliance monitoring. Conduct ethical impact assessments for new and existing AI systems and applications. Advise product development teams on ethical considerations related to data collection, model bias, fairness, privacy, and transparency. Stay at the forefront of evolving AI regulations, industry standards, and academic research in AI ethics and safety. Facilitate cross-functional workshops and training sessions to foster an organizational culture of ethical AI development. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to relevant laws and regulations. Develop communication strategies to articulate the company's commitment to responsible AI to internal and external stakeholders. Lead initiatives to identify, mitigate, and manage potential ethical risks associated with AI technologies. Contribute to thought leadership by publishing white papers, participating in conferences, and engaging with the broader AI ethics community. Build and maintain relationships with external experts, policymakers, and industry groups focused on AI ethics. Required Qualifications:

Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Philosophy, Law, Public Policy, Ethics, or a related discipline with a focus on AI ethics or technology governance. Minimum of 7 years of experience in AI ethics, technology policy, responsible AI, or a related field, with demonstrable experience in developing and implementing governance frameworks. Deep understanding of AI concepts, machine learning principles, and potential ethical challenges (e.g., bias, fairness, transparency, accountability, privacy). Familiarity with global AI regulations, ethical guidelines, and best practices. Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and influence stakeholders in a remote setting. Proven ability to lead complex projects, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment. Strong facilitation and training skills. Experience working with technical teams (data scientists, engineers) is highly desirable. A passion for advancing responsible and beneficial AI development. This is a 100% remote position, requiring a strong home office setup and the ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.
