Our client, a forward-thinking technology firm at the forefront of AI innovation, is seeking a dedicated AI Ethics & Governance Specialist to join their team. This role can be performed remotely from anywhere within the US, contributing to the responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence technologies. The AI Ethics & Governance Specialist will be instrumental in establishing and enforcing ethical guidelines, policies, and frameworks for AI development and usage within the organization. You will work closely with research, engineering, product management, and legal teams to ensure AI systems are developed and implemented in a fair, transparent, and accountable manner.

Key responsibilities include conducting ethical risk assessments for AI projects, developing interpretability and explainability strategies, and contributing to the creation of AI governance structures. You will research and stay current with evolving AI ethics regulations, industry best practices, and societal concerns. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, coupled with a deep knowledge of ethical principles, philosophical underpinnings, and relevant legal/regulatory frameworks governing AI. A background in computer science, data science, philosophy, law, public policy, or a related field with a focus on AI ethics is required. Experience in policy development, risk management, or compliance within a technology context is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills are essential for navigating complex ethical dilemmas and articulating clear recommendations to diverse stakeholders. Responsibilities: Develop and implement AI ethics principles, policies, and governance frameworks. Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for AI projects and products. Collaborate with engineering and product teams to integrate ethical considerations into the AI development lifecycle. Research and monitor global AI ethics regulations, standards, and best practices. Develop guidelines for AI explainability, transparency, and accountability. Advise on data privacy and bias mitigation strategies in AI systems. Contribute to the creation of internal training materials on AI ethics and responsible AI. Engage with external stakeholders, including regulators, academics, and industry groups, on AI ethics matters. Facilitate discussions and workshops on AI ethics and governance. Stay informed about emerging AI technologies and their ethical implications. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Philosophy, Law, Public Policy, or a related field with a focus on AI ethics. Proven experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, data governance, or technology policy. Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts and their societal implications. Knowledge of ethical frameworks, fairness metrics, and bias mitigation techniques. Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory landscapes for AI. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
