The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of AI principles, ethical frameworks, and regulatory landscapes governing artificial intelligence. You will work closely with research, engineering, product, and legal teams to develop and implement robust AI governance policies, conduct ethical risk assessments, and promote best practices for fairness, accountability, and transparency in AI systems. Responsibilities include:

Develop, implement, and maintain AI ethics principles, guidelines, and governance frameworks. Conduct ethical risk assessments for new and existing AI/ML models and applications. Collaborate with AI researchers and engineers to integrate ethical considerations into the AI development lifecycle. Advise product teams on the responsible design and deployment of AI-powered features. Monitor regulatory developments related to AI ethics and compliance, and ensure organizational alignment. Develop training materials and conduct workshops on AI ethics and responsible AI practices. Facilitate cross-functional discussions on complex ethical dilemmas related to AI. Contribute to the development of AI transparency and explainability initiatives. Investigate and address potential ethical concerns or biases in AI systems. Foster a culture of responsible innovation and ethical AI development within the organization. Qualifications:

Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Ethics, Law, Philosophy, Public Policy, or a related discipline with a focus on technology. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in AI ethics, responsible AI, technology governance, or a related field. Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and their societal implications. Familiarity with ethical frameworks, AI regulations, and industry best practices. Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ethical and technical concepts to diverse audiences. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Experience in conducting risk assessments or impact analyses. Ability to work a hybrid schedule, balancing on-site collaboration in **San Jose, California, US**, with remote work.
