AI Prompt Engineer – Donor Avatar Personas for Fundraising Practice Platform

Job Description

We're building an AI-powered fundraising practice platform where nonprofit fundraisers simulate donor conversations to sharpen their skills. The AI "donors" they practice with need to sound and behave like real people — right now, they don't, and we need your help to fix that.

The Project

We have 6-8 donor avatar personas that fundraisers practice conversations with. Your job is to take each persona and craft the prompts, tone guidelines, and behavioral frameworks that make them feel like distinct, believable humans — not a chatbot.

What You'll Be Doing

Reviewing our existing donor avatar scenarios

Using ChatGPT's voice/chat feature to iterate on prompts in real time

Developing distinct personalities, speech patterns, and behavioral rules for each avatar (e.g., how often they ask questions, when they push back, how they show interest or skepticism)

Creating a reusable prompt framework we can apply to future avatars

Testing each persona against a success rubric we'll provide

What "Good" Looks Like

The donor doesn't ask too many questions in a row

Responses feel natural, not scripted

Each avatar has a distinct personality (not all the same "generic donor")

Conversations have realistic pacing and emotional range

A fundraiser would feel like they're talking to a real person

Requirements

Native English speaker based in the United States

Strong intuition for natural dialogue and human conversation

Experience with prompt engineering or AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)

Ability to work iteratively and test/refine based on a framework

Strong written communication skills

Project Scope

Fixed price: $500

Deliverable: 5–6 fully optimized donor avatar persona prompts + a reusable framework document

Timeline: ~1 week
