AI Integration Specialist Senior (4612) (TS/SCI) (Ft. Belvoir, VA – Nolan Bldg)
SmxtechSMX is seeking a Senior AI Integration Specialist to design, integrate, and optimize AI/ML solutions for Army Intelligence workflows. This role will enhance decision support and automation while ensuring compliance, security, and mission readiness.
This is a full-time onsite position.
AI Solution Design and Implementation
- Design, develop, and implement AI-based solutions tailored to military intelligence workflows and operational needs.
- Prototype and validate AI-powered workflows for data analysis, decision support, and automation.
System Integration and Optimization
- Coordinate with external DoD entities and 3rd party vendors to Integrate AI technologies into existing Army Intelligence systems and digital platforms, ensuring seamless operation and minimal disruption.
- Optimize AI integrations for performance, scalability, and security within cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, …).
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including military personnel, data scientists, engineers, and intelligence analysts, to translate mission requirements into technical solutions.
- Liaise between technical teams and military leadership to ensure alignment with operational goals.
Deployment & Monitoring
- Employ Agile methodologies for project management.
- Manage deployment pipelines, containerization, and CI/CD workflows for AI services in the cloud.
- Implement robust monitoring, observability, and performance tracking for AI systems.
Training & Support
- Provide training and technical support to military personnel to ensure effective adoption and utilization of AI technologies.
- Document integration architecture, processes, and operational dependencies.
Compliance & Security
- Ensure compliance with military security, privacy, and governance standards for AI systems.
- Stay updated on advancements in AI and recommend improvements to existing systems.
Required Skills, Experience & Education
Security
- Active TS security clearance and eligible for SCI and NATO read-on prior to starting work
- Meet all requirements to receive a privileged user account on a TS/SCI information system (e.g. Army Cloud Computing Service Provider) prior to starting work. The requirements are currently defined in DoDD 8140.01.
Education and Experience
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience with AI/ML integration, systems engineering, or software development.
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, machine learning models, and frameworks.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
- Experience with API integration, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, …), and workflow orchestration tools
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
Military Operations Knowledge
- Familiarity with military operations, intelligence workflows, and digital platforms.
- Ability to work within the constraints of military security and compliance standards.
Problem-Solving & Communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and optimize AI integrations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
Desired Skills/Experience
- Experience with AI platforms such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, or Amazon SageMaker.
- Knowledge of MLOps tools and LLM-based applications.
- Background in data privacy, ethical AI deployment, or regulated industries.
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty or equivalent cloud certifications.
- Security+ certified.

$115,600 - $192,700 USD
