AI Application Engineer

Position Overview

Join our dynamic AI initiative team as an AI Application Engineer! This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who have a solid software engineering foundation and a passion for building innovative LLM applications and cutting-edge AI solutions. We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in full-stack development, especially in LLM/RAG systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop production-ready LLM applications using FastAPI/Spring Boot backends and React/Next.js frontends.
Implement and enhance RAG systems utilizing vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, and OpenSearch.
Create reusable LLM components including prompt engineering, chain orchestration, and response streaming.
Build REST/GraphQL APIs to facilitate AI services integration.
Deploy containerized AI applications on AWS (ECS/EKS, Lambda).
Evaluate AI tools to make informed recommendations regarding building or buying solutions.
Incorporate caching, rate limiting, and guardrails in LLM APIs for improved performance and safety.

Required Technical Skills

Programming Languages & Frameworks

Python: Expertise in FastAPI, Flask, Django (minimum 3 years).
Java: Proficient in Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Data.
JavaScript: Experience with React, Next.js, and Node.js.
Strong skills in API development and microservices architecture.

AI/ML Frameworks & Tools (Required)

RAG Implementation: Proven experience with production RAG pipelines is essential.
LangChain/LlamaIndex: Experience in building AI applications and chains.
Vector Databases: Familiarity with Pinecone, Weaviate, and OpenSearch.
Embedding Models: Experience with OpenAI, Cohere, and Sentence Transformers.
Data Science: Fundamental knowledge required.

Development Tools (Required)

Cursor or Windsurf: Knowledge of AI-powered development environments.
GitHub Copilot/CodeWhisperer: Familiarity with AI productivity tools.

AWS Cloud Platform (Required)

AWS Bedrock: Experience with managed foundation models.
Prompt Engineering: Expertise in advanced prompt design and optimization.
AI Guardrails: Knowledge of safety and content filtering mechanisms.
Additional: Skills in Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, and DynamoDB are a plus.

Experience Requirements

3-5 years of software engineering experience.
eCommerce experience: Preferred, especially in product search, chatbots, and personalization.
Experience in production web application development.
Familiarity with Agile/DevOps practices.
