Join us as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer specializing in Computer Vision, where you'll play a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge machine learning models for vehicle damage detection. This is an amazing opportunity to work with one of the largest and most diverse vehicle imagery catalogs, gathered from our nationwide auction and partner networks.

Your expertise will help set new standards for accuracy and reliability in damage detection and segmentation. The models you will build will be integrated into our mobile platforms and fixed Imaging Tunnels, enhancing the vehicle damage analysis processes across the nation.

What you'll do

  • Lead the design and optimization of innovative computer vision algorithms for automated damage analysis.
  • Develop and refine deep learning models, including CNNs and transformers, specifically for damage detection, classification, and segmentation.
  • Curate and manage datasets in collaboration with our annotation partners and extensive vehicle imagery catalog.
  • Work alongside data engineers and software developers to embed models into scalable, production-grade systems.
  • Research and experiment with the latest advancements in computer vision and machine learning to drive our projects forward.
  • Effectively communicate results, challenges, and opportunities with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Contribute towards establishing team standards for code quality and reproducibility.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of AI capabilities and ethics, ensuring the responsible application of AI tools.
  • Review AI outputs for accuracy and alignment with organizational standards, ensuring our AI practices drive measurable results.
  • Adhere to best practices concerning data integrity, security, and ethical usage, while actively working to minimize bias.

Who you are

Required Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience (16 years).
  • A minimum of 4 years of industry experience in machine learning focused on computer vision.
  • Demonstrated expertise in image segmentation and object detection.
  • Proficient in Python and relevant ML libraries, including PyTorch, OpenCV, and CoreML.
  • Experience with AI coding assistants to enhance development efficiency.
  • Familiarity with annotation tools and dataset management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities alongside excellent communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively within team settings.
  • Willing to relocate or currently reside in Atlanta, GA, or Austin, TX for a hybrid work model.

Desirable Skills

Experience in the following areas is highly advantageous:

  • C++ proficiency.
  • Mobile and web platform model deployment.
  • Dataset development with external annotation service providers.
  • Data mining and analysis utilizing SQL, ElasticSearch, and AWS.
  • Familiarity with Structure-from-Motion, SLAM, and 3D reconstruction.
  • Knowledge of machine vision camera systems.
  • Background in front-end web development.

Compensation

Compensation ranges from USD 108,800.00 to 181,400.00 per year based on experience and location.
