Team Description: The Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team is pivotal in realizing our AI vision at Capital One. Collaborating across various teams, we advance the field of AI science and engineering, developing proprietary solutions that drive significant business value. Your contributions will empower teams to enhance their products responsibly and scalably.

Your Role: As a Senior Engineer, you will

• Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, researchers, and product managers to create AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions.
• Design, develop, and support AI software components, including foundation model training, large language model inference, and more.
• Utilize a wide array of open-source and SaaS AI technologies, such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, and PyTorch.
• Innovate in LLM optimization techniques to enhance performance metrics like scalability, cost-efficiency, and latency.
• Contribute to the technical vision and long-term plans for foundational AI systems at Capital One.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus at least 3 years of experience in AI and ML, or a Master’s degree and at least 1 year of experience.
• 3 years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.

Preferred Qualifications

• 4 years of experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, etc.).
• Experience in developing AI services and algorithms.
• Expertise in techniques like LLM Inference and model evaluation using various programming languages.
• Experience optimizing training and inference software for improved performance metrics.
